High School Students

Grade 10
Building the Foundation

At Runata Global School, Grade 10 is a year of exploration and mastery. Students engage in a concept-based inquiry approach under the Cambridge IGCSE framework, developing critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills while building a strong academic base for their future pathways.

Learning is structured into two categories: Core Essentials and Core Subjects.

Core Essentials

Subjects designed to nurture the whole person, fostering cultural identity, creativity, and lifelong skills.

Mandarin

Students develop communication skills in one of the world’s most influential languages, preparing them for global opportunities.

Bahasa Indonesia

Strengthening national identity and advanced literacy in the mother tongue through literature, writing, and critical discussion.

Theory of Knowledge (ToK)

Encourages students to reflect on the nature of knowledge — how we know what we claim to know — while also developing essential academic skills for university. In Grade 10, ToK serves as a bridge to higher education by introducing:

  • Academic Essay Writing – structuring arguments, building logical flow, and writing with clarity.

  • Citation & Referencing Skills – mastering tools such as Mendeley and citation styles used in Indonesian universities, alongside international standards like APA, MLA, and Chicago.

  • Critical Reading & Source Evaluation – learning how to assess the credibility of sources and avoid plagiarism.

These skills ensure that Runata students enter higher education already equipped with competencies most students only acquire at the university level.

Physical Education (PE)

Builds physical fitness, teamwork, and discipline, emphasizing both health and sportsmanship.

Performing Arts

Offers opportunities in music, drama, and creative expression, boosting confidence and creativity.

Civics & Indonesian Studies

Deepens students’ understanding of history, governance, and culture, grounding them in civic responsibility and values.
